Natural Oil
Uncompromising Shells

To make such shells is no easy task. The lumber has to be hand-selected from only the finest air-dried quartersawn Red Appalachian Oak. Each stave is meticulously cut and bent by hand, steel rings hand-hammered into place, then cured for months. The shells are then hand-glued and again, hammered to shape. Many months later they are ready to be turned by an artisan who has made these shells the old-fashioned way for more than 20 years. Once they are sanded to a baby-soft finish, nearly one full year has passed. So why do we go through all of this to make a conga? It’s simple, because we refuse to compromise.
