Jeff Tripoli is an American drummer, percussionist, and vocalist, raised in Syracuse, New York. With over 30 years of experience, his journey began in the clubs of Upstate New York, where he started performing professionally at just 17 years old.

Jeff’s drumming style reflects a diverse blend of musical influences and genres. Both on stage and in the studio, he has played with a wide array of artists and bands across Rock, Funk, Blues, Soul, Alternative, Bluegrass, Zydeco, Americana, Celtic, Folk, and World music. At the heart of his dynamic sound lies a drive to create fresh rhythms and unique artistic perspectives.

He has toured extensively across the U.S., Canada, and Europe for more than 15 years, with appearances at music festivals including Grey Fox Bluegrass, The Great Blue Heron, Sterling Stage, Finger Lakes GrassRoots, Shakori Hills GrassRoots, North Texas Irish Festival and Canada’s Irish Festival.

Since 2015, Jeff has been a member of Canadian Celtic folk-rock band The Town Pants, touring internationally through cities like Vancouver, Buffalo, Toronto, Chicago, Dallas, Honolulu, and Dublin. He’s featured on their 2018 release Something To Say. The Town Pants blend Irish traditional, folk-rock, and roots-Americana into their signature Celtic-Roots-Rock sound, showcased across six studio albums, two live albums, and a famously high-energy live show that’s earned them a global fanbase.

Natural Habitat, written and produced by Tripoli, blurs the lines between music, environment, and experience. Crafted using natural materials and unconventional techniques, the album weaves earthy textures with hypnotic rhythms and spacious atmospheres. It is an avant-garde soundscape that feels like an evolving ecosystem—alive, untamed, and deeply meditative.

Jeff’s sophomore release, Perspectives, features 10 original percussion-based compositions, each accompanied by a music video and guest collaborator. Continuing his exploration of unconventional sounds, the album showcases more of Tripoli’s homemade instruments and sound creations, pushing the boundaries of rhythm and texture.

His debut album, Wabi Sabi, is a deep dive into sonic exploration. Featuring original compositions and improvisations, the album experiments with homemade instruments, found sounds, and psychedelic textures. Guest artists include Butch Norton, Jeff Tortora with Blue Man Group, Griffin Brady of The Slyboots Circus and world class mixing by Jeff Moleski.

In 2021, Jeff began studying under the mentorship of renowned Los Angeles-based drummer and percussionist Butch Norton. Butch has appeared on several landmark records and tours with world class artists including The Eels, Lucida Williams, Tracey Chapman, Rufus Wainwright and the awe inspiring percussion duo: aka Butch Jerome. Lessons from the Butch Bunker explore a broad range of percussion techniques and musical concepts, with an emphasis on developing groove, feel, creativity, improvisation, recording and active listening.

Another key collaboration emerged when Jeff connected with drummer and composer Sam Fishman—a meeting that felt destined. Together, they formed the dynamic percussive duo Mendings of Time, named after their debut release: Wilburland Sessions. The project explores improvisation, meditation, and minimalism with the intention of transporting both themselves and their listeners to a higher plane of existence through rhythm and sound.

Jeff was also involved with The Probables, a Western New York-based Americana band known for their fiery live shows and eclectic “Folkana-Roots-Rock” sound. Since forming in 2016, the group has gained a loyal following, thanks to a compelling blend of Folk, Rock, Reggae, Bluegrass, and Funk, driven by introspective songwriting and high-energy performances.

In 2022, Jeff joined Front & Main, a Soul Rock project based in Upstate New York. Alongside collaborators Michael Wu and Paul Shotwell, the group features an ensemble of top-tier regional musicians delivering soulful, rock-infused original music—ranging from heartfelt ballads to gritty rock anthems, all anchored by Shotwell’s distinct vocals.

He’s also a driving force behind Sons of Grunge, a band dedicated to resurrecting the iconic music of the ’90s grunge era. With passionate performances that channel the raw power, rebellious spirit, and emotional intensity of grunge rock, the band pays tribute to a generation-defining sound with authenticity and heart.
