Carwin Javier Molleja Sánchez was born in Barquisimeto, Venezuela. His passion for music began at an early age; at 11, he started his percussion journey playing Venezuelan *gaitas* in a family band, laying the musical foundation that would shape his professional career.

After his time with *gaita* groups, he continued his artistic growth by joining salsa orchestras and Afro-Venezuelan drum ensembles—a genre representing one of the most significant expressions of Venezuelan folklore. This experience allowed him to broaden his musical knowledge and develop great versatility across various percussion instruments, including congas, timbales, bongos, batá drums, and the güiro.

In 2016, he decided to take on a new challenge and moved to the Dominican Republic, where he continued to advance his artistic career, establishing himself as one of the most versatile and sought-after percussionists in the tropical music scene.

Throughout his career, he has accompanied numerous national and international artists in concerts, tours, television programs, and major events. He is currently a member of Ilegales, one of the most renowned merengue groups. Additionally, he has had the opportunity to share the stage and perform with distinguished artists such as Nino Segarra, Willie González, Chichí Peralta, and Elvis Crespo—including a performance at the Premios Soberano—among other major figures in Latin music.

Carwin Molleja’s stage energy, versatility, discipline, and professional commitment have enabled him to build a solid career as a percussionist. He proudly represents his Venezuelan roots and his artistic evolution in the Dominican Republic, bringing his talent to both national and international stages.
