Jaime Rodriguez
Jaime Rodriguez, a native of Puerto Rico, embarked on his musical journey at the tender age of five, inspired by family members such as Ramoncito Rodriguez, renowned as the director of the acclaimed trio “Los Andinos.” Over the years, Jaime has distinguished himself through numerous achievements.
Beginning his formal music education at seven, Jaime attended esteemed institutions such as The First Baptist Church of Carolina, Carolina School of Arts, Ernesto Ramos Antonini Libre de Música School, and the Music Conservatory of Puerto Rico. His accomplishments encompass a range of honors, including Carolina’s Citizenship Medal, academic and musical high honors, and recognition through various medals and awards.
Jaime’s performance repertoire is impressively diverse, spanning engagements with the Libre de Música Symphony Orchestra, worship bands, the Charles Washington Symphony Orchestra, jazz ensembles, cover and wedding bands, and various other musical ventures. Noteworthy highlights include participation in productions such as “Cuatro,” “Contratiempo,” “La Revoltosa,” as well as acclaimed Broadway shows like “Rent,” “Once on This Island,” and “42nd Street.” Recently, Jaime was involved in the second national tour of “On Your Feet.” His contributions have also extended to prestigious events such as the Latin Music Celebration, Latin Divas, and the Latin Festival at the Smithsonian in Washington DC.
Throughout his career, Jaime has collaborated with renowned artists including Eddie Palmieri, José Febres, Danny Rivera, and Adlan Cruz, among others. Notable engagements include jam sessions with Miguel Zenon and performances alongside members of the Miami Sound Machine.
Jaime has toured nationally with prominent percussionists such as Manny Marquez who is Pedro Martinez, and Camila Cabello’s percussionist accruing five Grammy nominations along the way. Notable mentors in Jaime’s journey include Pedro Rivera Toledo, Ricardo Pons, Diana Valdes, Ramón Sanchez, David Rivera, among others.
In the realm of recordings, Jaime’s contributions have left an indelible mark, featuring prominently in works such as “No estás aquí” by Tercera Entrada and “The Lowlands of Holland & Till We Meet Again (Reel)” by Radharc.
