Jose Febres
Jose Febres was born August 23 1986, in Carolina, Puerto Rico. Around Rumba Roots, in the age of 14, Jose developed the nature of the music, he discovered the rhythm in his blood, and he started creating music, making himself faster to play and to create his own way…his own ability to dominate the congas. Since then, he perfected his rhythm technique which open doors for him in the world of the greatest one’s, who help him expose his amazing talent, in the Latin Jazz like: Justo Almario, Dave Valentin, David Sanchez, Arturo Sandoval, Rie Akagi, Luis ‘Perico’ Ortiz and Giovanni Hidalgo & others. He collaborated with artist in the genre of the reggae like: Tego Calderon and the Production label of White Lion Record.
In the genre of Salsa, he’s worked with greats like Justo Betancourt, Andy Montañez, Domingo Quinonez, Ismael Miranda, Gilberto Santa Rosa & Marc Anthony. He participated in important events as the Billboards Awards, Jazz Word Fest at Barbados Island, The Bull and Salsa Word Fest at France, Puerto Rico Conga Kings Event, & Heineken Jazz Fest. This young man was selected by Marc Anthony & Jennifer Lopez, by producers Jamie King & Simon Fuller, to become part of the reality show ‘ Q Viva The Chosen’ where he Represented Puerto Rico at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas in front of 13,500 people. Also, he was invited to make an advertisement with one of the most prestigious cable company ‘Dish Latino’ in Orlando Florida. In the same moment he was invited to be part of the Puerto Rican parade in the American Airline float in front of 1 million people. He was part of the opening in the baseball game of the Dodgers in their own stadium where he played with the Q viva The Chosen Band directed by Jamie King.
