Bio

Rich Mangicaro has been a professional musician all his adult life. He’s performed and/or recorded with many of music’s influential artists including 15 years as a band member of Eagles founder, the late Glenn Frey. Rich has also worked with Joe Walsh, Jeff Bridges, Aaron Neville, James Morrison and Venice with special guests Michael McDonald, David Crosby, Jackson Browne, The Tubes, Richard Page, Billy Idol, America, Christopher Cross, Colin Hay, Tommy Shaw and Dave Mason.

As a music journalist, Rich has written for Modern Drummer, Drumhead, Drumscene, Percussive Notes, Edge, Rhythm UK and Batteur, enjoying both national and international recognition.

Recognized as one of the music instrument industry’s foremost authorities in the field of Artist Relations, Rich spent 19 years as Director of Artist Relations for the Paiste cymbal company and 10 years for Innovative Percussion, Inc.  He currently is the Artist Relations/Marketing Manager Gon Bops, Inc.

Along with his artist relations work and continually performing and recording, Mangicaro has creatred, produced and edited his own web series, now on You Tube, entitled “The Art Of Improv” – a series about various spontaneous, creative art-forms.  In 2018, Rich released his debut instrumental record of original compositions, entitled, “Travels”, featuring him on drums, percussion, piano and keyboards.  A highly personal project, “Travels” is dedicated to his father, master fine artist Dominic Mangicaro, on the 20th anniversary of his passing.
